College Mentoring Program

The Dallas Texans Soccer Club, Austin Division (DTA), is excited to announce a new college mentoring program to assist the players in our club research the possibilities that exist for them at the college level.  K.C. Crabb will lead this program and share their knowledge of the recruiting process with the players of DTA. 

One of DTA's main objectives is to assist the players in our club see their goals through to fruition.  A number of the girls in our club have a desire to continue their soccer careers, and the DTA College mentoring program is designed to assist the prospective student-athletes at DTA recognize the opportunities that are available in college soccer.

The Dallas Texans Austin Division College Mentoring Program will provide our players with everything they need to be proactive in the recruiting process such as:

  • The advantages of beginning the recruiting process early.
  • The criteria for narrowing down the list of potential institutions  that best fit the potential student athlete’s criteria.
  • Help identify the appropriate level for each individual player.
  • Help recognize the advantages and disadvantages of the Division 1, the Division 2, the Division 3, the NAIA, and the NJCAA levels.
  • Provide an overview of the NCAA rules every potential student-athlete needs to know and understand.
  • Learn how to build a resume that catches the eye of potential college coaches.
  • Help players realistically evaluate their abilities, and target schools that fit their level of play.
  • Know the proper contact protocol including initial letters and email contact.
  • Help make players aware of the recruiting timelines.
  • The academic requirements and the NCAA clearinghouse requirements needed to ensure college acceptance and eligibility.

The location, date, and time for the initial forum will be announced very soon.  This program will be available to all DTA players currently in the 8th grade or above.  There will be no additional charge for this program, and it will be available to all players regardless of division 1, super 2, or division 2 status.
